Some terminals also will not let you take pets into the building such as US X, they have to stay outside in pet cages, this is esp true if having any shop work done.

regarding the pets,I have never seen a shipper or a consignee that would not allow a dog in the truck.they may not allow the pet to come out of the truck but that is for another thread.please don't tell a wannabe anything that you can not substantiate.MNdriver Thanks this. -
I was a MA (MP) in the Navy until June 2009. The three years I was there we had a gate designated for trucks. All trucks were opened and inspected. If there was a seal, the truck went through our Mobile truck scanner (Can't remember the actual name of it right now since it's been a while) and the cab was inspected by us. Every base/post is different. It's up to the base/post commander how he wants things ran. Army posts are far more relaxed than the rest of the services at the gates. I spent 6 years in the Navy and now almost done with 3 in the Army. Been to a lot of different places and it's a different experience most times.

hummmm......xr1 seems like other drivers posting here are getting inspected too? so i guess its not my imagination after all. i guess your one of the lucky ones who have never been inspected, you probally always get a front row parking spot at the truck stop every night, along with a green light everytime you roll thru the scales, and never have to wait for a shower. i bet you have never waited for a door at a shipper or reciever either.

A couple of things to consider. Can you afford to pay for your own schooling, or will you need to go through a company that offers schooling? Also remember that if your dog needs to see a vet, it can be very difficult on the road.
