@Lifechange05 - here's a good rundown by Braylean on Freymiller. They drive full size trucks, not the ECO lightweight that have very little storage space. Don't have to remove the passenger seat to install a refrigerator as with the ECO lightweight trucks. Maybe have tuition reimbursement.Ralph4159 Thanks this.

Danny Herman Avg length of haul is about 1200 miles, according to the man I spoke with a while back. I have spoken to quite a few of their drivers up in the Chicago area, around TN and in TX and they were real happy with them. Not too sure if they'd hire from the west coast. I live in SE VA and he told me that he just didn't have the freight base to get me home (huh, an honest answer from a "recruiter") so 1 whole day of my home time would've been driving from/to the terminal.

A few drivers posted they take the truck home anyway and nothing is ever said about it.
I don't know; strange policy.
South-East Carriers operates the same; no northeast or New York City. Don't know their policy about taking the truck home. @tow614 used to work there, so he knows.Ralph4159 Thanks this. -
Thanks again for all the tips. I've seen Danny Herman trucks over the years but knew nothing about the company. I was reading some of the other Danny Herman threads and it seems to fit what I am looking for *perfectly*.
In fact reading people over there criticize it for low pay only confirms to me that it is the real deal. In other words, there has to be a trade off for high mile loads and no dispatch micromanaging - and that is lower cents/mile (which is fine by me).
I can't tell you how many times at Heartland, I would have a decent load all planned out to use my hours perfectly. Then dispatch would suddenly say there was something urgent, have me swap mid-trip with another driver, take his damaged load somewhere for live unload, wait 5 hours, etc. Some of the bizarre rerouting & swapping loads caused insane headaches.Chinatown Thanks this. -
