Well said Marsha,and you are correct some people blame all their troubles on the other guy.If things would be like they were when I started we would not have many owner operators today. Back then when I signed on with the first outfit (which I would still be with today if the owner would not have been murdered) we had to have our own base plate insurance money for permits (road and fuel permits) and enough cash to run on for a month because they only paid every two weeks with a two week hold back.Thank I did not mean you fellas any harm. Chuck.

I used to be leased onto Chicoda Carriers. I can say by far they were very good to me. Reason I'm not leased onto them anymore is I had an accident & my truck was unfortunately repossessed. Plain & simple. The owner as well as the dispatcher were always good to me, I had & still have nothing byt the utmost respect for the both of them. All I can say to who bad mouth's them is, you need to grow up & act like an owner operator should, instead of a whiney sissified cry baby. Marsha & Steve bend over backwards to help o/o's succeed & all that is asked from the o/o is to do your job & follow the rules of the company, federal (fmcsa), & other applicable rules. If I buy another truck, I can assure you in a heartbeat I'll be asking them to lease onto them again. Also, I was truck #37 during my tenure with this company. I am Brad K. Deshautelle
MWalters Thanks this. -

I would also like to add; when an o/o leases onto a co. & that company puts plates, insurance, etc on the truck & maybe gives a small advance for the driver to eat on, that person doesn't need to complain that he/she is not getting paid. they went in asking to go to work & for help, then when the money that was advanced to them to get started is taken out of the first few settlements, they wanna cry, moan, #####, complain that the company is not paying them for what they did, when they FAIL to realize that the money that was advanced is simply being taken back from what they made for the advances. gee whiz is it that hard for some people to comprehend that. -

If you read their website you should have noticed that they state that they are a "forced dispatch" company.
Being forced dispatched is a major test by the state and the IRS whether somebody is an owner operator or an employee.
An owner operator can turn down any load at any time without penalty or reprisal, an employee may not have that previledge.
Any contract that contains non lawful terms or requirements voids that portion or possibly the entire contract.
I know this 2 ways;
1. I reported a company that tried a to force dispatch me, that ended poorly for them.
2. Just check with the OOIDA. -
