Sounds about right for Sanjel, for a pumper... do NOT believe the 15 0n 6 0ff, you will work when the work requires you too, for a straight 7 to 10 days on sight, then days off and move to the next well.

    Wymon Thanks this.

Frac Sand is a silica sand it's mined in alot of places and alot is sent out by rail. We used to go all over to get it. Now there's rail spurs everywhere most hauls now are under 100 miles unless they want something special. They also use coated sand and coated ceramic in different grades depending what the geologist calls
for. Hollywood is an acquired name probably because I've always got on a pair of sun glasses

    Wymon,

I wouldn't do a pre-trip for $14/hr. Energy industries and making a bundle and if those firms cannot share the wealth they deserve a transient workforce.

I hauled frac sand in CO. and currently in Jonah Field in WY . Hollywood Tom is right about western CO . No paved roads in the mountain locations with frequent snow / mud conditions . Sometimes chain up and down 3-4 times/ day . Not bad when you get used to it though . Jonah has real good roads for being unpaved-rarely chain up . Alot colder than CO though . We get paid by the load , $150 . usually get 3 loads / day . Not bad pay but not much of a life , either . Run until you hit 70 hours , 24 hour reset and do it all again . Encana has a pretty nice man camp that we stay at . The money is good but the lifestyle is not for everyone . We darn sure don't need to lose any more jobs to transient workers though .
