Best of luck. Still waiting on the call...just waiting on drug screen results.

Does everyone go out with a trainer then? For how long?

Not sure if all terminals operate the same way in terms of going out with a trainer. I'm out of the Waco, TX terminal. Yes, everyone that goes to work at the Waco terminal goes out with a trainer for 2 weeks.

Unlike a training company where going out with a trainer includes training to drive a truck. Sherwin Williams hires experienced drivers. The training has to do with handling paint, paperwork and procedures. I doubt there is a S-W driver that hasn't opened their trailer doors to discover an ocean of spilled paint. Hopefully the training will reduce the chances of that happening. Congratulations.

    tmslogistics and Longarm Thank this.

I'm back, got on with a small reefer company been here almost 2 years. They're running me pretty hard and I'm getting over 3500mi a week easy...around 160k-170k mi yearly. I don't get home time and do my 34 reset on the road. The closest thing to home time for me is running a load to cali and stopping in vegas for a 10hr break. I got a raise last month to $.40mi...my W2 for 2015 $68,900. If the numbers you posted is correct I would make close to $100k doing what I'm doing now. Am I missing anything? Sounds to good to be true to make that kind of money and do your 34 reset at home every week.

Thats some crazy trucking! We have all probably experienced similar conditions before discovering other opportunities. S-W, I believe requires a minimum of two years driving experience, so if you have that make an inquiry with them. You won't see 3500 mile weeks, but you will see the house every week.

One of the biggest misconceptions in the trucking industry is the thought that you need to run 3,000+ miles per week to make any money. That's simply not true if you can get on with the right company that has a good accessorial pay package or a good cents per mile rate.

    Completely agree.
120k miles, mid 70's gross pay.

That whole spilled paint thing is a bit concerning. How does that happen? Packaging? It would seem to me pretty hard to bust cans or buckets open just going down the road.

Does SW pay per diem? Optional?
