    1. Where would you go to school at for them to get your CDL?

    2. Do you have to lease with them?

    3. Where are most of their routes (regional, dedicated, ect.)

    4. Can you go solo after training with trainer?

    Thanks in advance!

My wife is in training with them as we speak so here's what I know as far as I know, welcome any corrections if i get something wrong.

They have 3 training locations - Salt lake city, UT, Conley, GA, and Fontana, CA. You won't be there long because training is only two weeks then you go out with a trainer for 5 weeks. They run all 48 but have dedicated opertunities. You can go solo after training. It costs $3000. They take a little each week out of your check. If you stay a year you'll have paid $1500 and they forgive the other $1500. If you lease, which I strongly suggest you don't do unless you intend to team or train, They forgive the full $3000. No you do not have to lease but they do encourage you to often.

You may want to take the time to read through the thread located at the following link. It would probably be a good idea to post any further questions there as well as this section seems to get neglected.

Depends on your distance to a terminal. We live in the Central Valley of california and have been told that she'll get to spot her trailer somewherer then bobtail home.

I live in Northern Ohio, so Im sure there might be a chance I could keep it if not terminal is around. Also I wouldnt mind moving to the Knoxville TN area and drive from down there. Im actually heading there this weekend to check it out. Will probably talk with a recruiter soon from them.
Now trying to figure out if you get your CDL after the two weeks of training (or 3 weeks with other companines) or is it after working with the trainer on the road for a period of time.
    Thanks for your insite!

You will get your CDL after the two-three weeks training. You'll get three chances to pass at the DMV or with a DMV-certified instructor. If you fail all three times they send you home. If you pass you get your license and go out with a trainer.

No need to appoligize, if I didn't like answering questions why would I be on a forum? :biggrin_25522:

I can only tell you about california's test because that is where I tested and so did my wife. There is a written test which is multi-choice. That test has several parts like general knowledge, air brakes, and a part for each endorsement you are seeking. You'll take the written test within a few days of arriving at school to get your premit. Then you will begin practicing for the skills test. During the skill test you have to do an alley dock, a straight back and a parrallel park. Once you pass that you'll do a road test. During the road test be sure to NOT shift on the R/R tracks or hit a curb, those are auto fails. This is 3 strikes and your out, meaning you get three and only three mulligans. So lets say you fail the written once and the skills once. That means you have to pass the drive test on your first try.

    LakeErieHillbilly Thanks this.
