Hi.
I find that if you want to haul crude, that november to april is busy up in Fort Mac. Then its so much more inconsistant for a few months.
My truck comes south and I take what I can get. Then when oct/nov happens again - i head back up north.

Well, its been almost six months and no luck so far..Some more help please? Maybe some of you could recommend me to their companies or.......to be honest, I'm out of ideas but I know I can't just sit here and wait for someone to contact me. All I get is 'thank you for applying' emails and that's it :/ any suggestions?

If you're just starting out, there seems to be a fair bit of work in the gas industry, especially with fracking crews. I know a few newish drivers who started out with that. I've talked to a couple of guys who started out on water trucks too.

Yeah, check it out. I'm not sure what the policies etc. are, and I know very little about immigration, but I do know quite a few people who went to Alberta to get their start. There's also oil in southern Saskatchewan (the province just east of Alberta) and a lot of potash. Manitoba (the province east of Saskatchewan) is working hard to become a transportation hub. I believe you mentioned Bison is an earlier post...they are based in Manitoba.
We're a country of immigrants, so I'm not sure why the poll here is going the way it is. My family were foreign labourers (the Irish), foreign military (Germans who were British Empire loyalists), and foreign farmers (Polish and Ukrainian). Not sure why we wouldn't want foreign truck drivers. Unless the people voting are all native with treaty status, their family histories will be similar. -

the drivers the companys themselves brought over are pretty good--very good actually--the ones the govt lets come here as plain immigrants are the ones with mulliwilli on the door of the wrecked trucks
but now--word has gotten throughout eu about some of the companys that were importing drivers--aand they basically get nobody at their cattle calls in eu
so now some of them are importing drivers from the philipines--and again there are some very good --very expirienced drivers--but also some that will scare the crap out of you---jvar4001 Thanks this. -
