AllState beats the pants off of NETTS. Great people, too. It's too bad there's no community colleges around that offer a driving course.

As dfar as i know it is lease to buy which i would not do. I myself would be more interested in buying my own rig many years down the road.

Thank you, I was not even considering NETTS. I was not to fond of thier costs and the fact it is more of a group thing then 1 on 1.

I hear shoulder rehab isn't fun at all, had a good friend that had surgery couple years ago (cant remember what type of shoulder surgery it was) but I gave him rides to rehab he never looked very pleased coming out of that place especially in the beginning.

He's probably referring to the company promoted lease purchase scheme. Many companies 'sell' it pretty hard. The basic thing is you 'lease' a truck from them and when the lease is up, you own it. That's how they sell it to you. However, the VAST, and I do mean VAST majority of these Lease Purchase schemes do NOTHING for the driver and EVERYTHING for the company. Keep reading on here and you're bound to learn about them and that most are to be avoided at all costs!
There are a VERY few that seem to be somewhat legit, so I don't think it accurate to characterize ALL of them as bad bad bad!!!!! But, for every 'good' lease purchase program, there's about a gazillion bad ones. Good lease purchase programs are rarer than getting 2 silver quarters, a silver dime, a buffalo nickel and 2 wheat pennies back in change for a dollar!!!

    Chinatown Thanks this.

The only two I'm aware of that are fair are JCT and Cardinal Logistics. With Cardinal, you're actually buying the truck, not leasing it.

Not saying all leases are bad, but for someone just starting in this industry, I thinks its best to learn it before making that choice, trucking isn't of everyone, plus most training company with leases (in my opinion) are not good at all, can a rookie just starting out succeed with a lease? maybe, but to many of them fail do to lack of knowledge of this industry, I think it is just best for anyone wanting to get into this job, learn the ins and outs before trying to become a owner op

I do know with JCT, you will own the truck if you finish the lease, they wont start mess you around when the lease is coming to its end, but still think drivers just starting in this business should learn it first
