I’d like eventually become an O/O but my experience is limited to box and reefer. When and if I do get my own rig I would rather haul more specialized freight that pays better. However, it seems I’ll need a year or so experience before anyone will let me pull those loads as an O/O.

So can anyone recommend good companies with terminals or significant operations around Louisiana that specialize in HAZMAT, Cryogenics or car hauling?

    Thanks in advance.

Just about every chemical company has a terminal in the Geismar/Gonzales/St Gabriel area. Many cyro companies too. Just drive down LA 30 from I-10.
Also several in the Lake Charles area.

And John N John in Crowley if you want to run tanker.

I'm from LA. Kinda depends on what you want as far as Hazmat. Hazmat in a tanker or a dry van?

Safe Harbors. If near St Gabriel, go to the Truckstop on RT. 30 after 3:00 or 4:00 pm. Ask the Drivers. They’re in and out all day. Some camp out, watch TV. Most are just getting fuel. They all know what everyone else is doing. Who’s hiring etc.
