looking for new comp.

    im working for a comp. now that is 1000 miles from my house and am looking for a new job but dont want my comp. now to find out until i have a new one because they will fire me on the spot wherever im at. im gonna give a 2 week notice when i find new job so when they do let me go i can go to new job rightaway. any suggestions on how to do this .

    You can always ask the HR Dept NOT to call for a reference. In fact, many times on an application, it will ask if it is "ok" to call your current employer.

    Now here, it DOES get tricky. You can explain what you said here, and NOT to call.

    However, I was once told, if I were to say "NO", or do not call, the new employer WILL CALL, as you got something to hide.

    So, just try explaining it the way you said here, and hope for the best.

    I have only applied for a few trucking jobs...

    They ask for verification of employment. So pay stubs from your entire work history there might suffice.
