If money ain’t no problem you can’t go wrong with Michelins.

TA/Petro has decent tire promotions every few months. Love’s/Speedco and Pilot/FJ probably also have their own tire promotions. Then there is Goodyear tire shops. I think they also carry cheap tires under the Marathon name. You can find Goodyear locations on Trucker Path app.

I have used cheap drive tires in the past (General Tire brand). They are passable, but you can notice the difference right away when you compare them with good quality tires. I currently have a set of Goodyear on my drives. Good tires so far. The General tires I had started chipping towards the end of their life. The Goodyears I have do not chip. The material is different. It’s feels more solid.

You will find that several cheap tire brands are owned by big brands. For example, Continental owns General Tire; Bridgestone owns Dayton; etc. Who knows if these cheaper tires owned by bigger brands make then a bit better than the small name cheap tires.

If 300 is all you can swing, those Chinese tires are going to be the only thing you find. If you can come up with just a little more those Daytons aren't bad and they are made by Bridgestone.

You can probably get some good years for $350

If $400 more total breaks yah then sell the truck now and save the money instead of buying tires.

If you are leased to a large carrier you can generally get the “good” tires thru their fleet discount for not much more than $300. I get the best Michelin Tires available in my size for less than $400. If you buy cheap high rolling resistance tires it can cost you more in fuel mileage than the extra money to get the good tires.

What kind of work? Off road/destroy them quickly anyway? Get cheap tire. On interstate 90%+? Michelin xdn2 is what I like, expensive up front, long even wear, haven't had any quality issues ever so I refuse to change.
