Hi to all. I’m currently on the market to buy used bobtail for OTR. Have my authority almost 4 years. Clean record and experience on non cdl truck. Got my CDL A a month ago. Unfortunately my insurance agent is regular lazy pos and won’t make things work. Can anybody give a recommendation for their insurance agent? I’m resident of California.
Or maybe I have to go with lease to own deal? But I’m sure due to no experience, never seen any companies with this option.
I know my best way - to go to as a company driver. Most likely doesn’t work for my family.
Thanks to all and God Bless.

Buying you own truck with no experience of knowledge of the trucking industry is going to be a very expensive school .
I’d highly recommend working for a company for a year or so amd learn the business . Learn which lanes have profitable freight etc .
I did exactly what you’re thinking of doing
Got my CDL bought a truck on a lease purchase deal and jumped into the deep end of the pool .
but I was very lucky
The company I signed on with was actually fair and honest with the lease purchase and I did ok
But there’s so so many stories of guys driving 80 hours a week for months and not making a dime , and in fact owing the company
Money after months of hard work .
you can make $60-75k your first year working for the right company driving their truck.
So when it breaks down or needs expensive repairs , it’s not your money and they put you ina replacement truck so you’re not sitting for weeks , still making a truck payment and insurance payment while your rig sits waiting forever weeks on parts from China that may or may not ever arrive .JoeyJunk and Navigatorpirate Thank this.
