hi all
i am a person just trying to work out a deal that will benifit all all of us i am sure there are some truckers out there that need to get out west and can help me out and at the same time make some decent money i am willing to negotiate there is nio reason to be nasty about this thanks frrank -
some decent money......
Diesel fuel is $2.75 on the national average right now. Getting 7 miles per gallon, which is maybe high for some drivers, is 40 cents a mile just for fuel. It costs more than 50 cents per mile to own and operate a truck for the non-fuel costs, and the driver needs to earn money to pay his family's bills and eat too! -
2 days loading time including picking up the container
3 to 4 days driving
2 days unloading, and dropping off the container -
HAHAHA!!! Come on guys, have you ever seen ONE of these postings where they were realistic on prices?
First off, we are businessmen regardless if you think we are just gypsies and dirtballs. We don't haul just to "get out west" if there isn't profit it doesn't move.
$.50mi is my PERSONAL wage I pay myself even before the truck costs. lets see here. $.40 to .50 per mile for fuel, $.15 for maintenance and repair fund, $.11 for truck payment, $.075 for insurance, $.08 for trailer payment, then another $.07 for misc tax's registrations blah blah blah... so where are we at?? About $1.50 and that's break even.... no profit for the company...
lets see here. my daily fixed costs wether the truck runs 1 mile or 1000miles are about $80 per day so that $300 a day sounds good to me.
SO that move I would charge you no less then $3800 + $12.50 per hour for every hour from the time i drop the trailer untill it is ready to be picked up...
ANd that is IF I could even haul it, which I can't and 99% of the people here can't because houshold goods is not covered on our insurance unless you specificly add it and pay extra for itwalleye Thanks this.
