Been driving with Crete Carriers - Dry Van for about a year now and really enjoy the company....have all the miles I need to make some good money. The only reason i'm looking for a new position is I have a young family and would like to be home more often with them. Currently, i'm out 24 days and home for 4 days and would like better home time.

I have Tanker, HazMat, Doubles/Triples endorsements.

Would appreciate suggestions on trucking companies with better home time that are out of Houston, TX and where I do not have to take a pay cut. So far, I have tried SEFL and ODFL but none of them is hiring.

    All suggestions/responses, highly appreciated.

Go take a ride down 255 into Pasadena and look at those local jobs. Tons and tons of industry. Tons of trucks.

Tankers would be my suggestion. Clean Harbors, PeroxyChem, Veolia, Intergulf, etc, plus all the 'airs would probably keep you semi local.

Clean Harbors has several openings for cdl-a drivers.
Here's just one, but there's several more:
Our Clean Harbors Technical Services Team based out of La Porte, TX is hiring drivers. As a Class A Driver you will responsible for picking up waste drums utilizing vans, vacuum tankers, box trucks and roll off trucks year round in all types of weather conditions. This role is 90% local with limited regional travel between TX, AR and OK (company paid). There are also overtime opportunities available.
