Am I in the wrong to try to contact shippers that I have learned about from Brokers I have done load. Abroker I have hauale for found out that I was attempting to haul direct for shipper and threatened me. He said he was going to black ball my company and it would show on my record when someone checked my MC#. Can he do this?

I've been doing it for years. Spring is the best time to pick up some new customers

Read papers before you sign them and fax them back. These papers have very important information on then.

All Agreements have a Back-Solicitation clause in them that you signed, and agreed to pay 15-35 percent penalties on all shipments made through Broker's customer.

Its frowned on,.. but if you do it casually where the shipper approaches you to haul for them,.. as in making nice nice,.. doing multiple loads in order to get friendly with the shipper,.. its beating around the bush,.. but this way the shipper does not contact the broker and tell them you are underbidding or trying to steal money from the broker by competing directly with the broker even though you actually are. I've got a few using this approach. Sometimes it works,.. other times it does not. Big shippers not so much. But smaller local guys,.. easy money.

I dont care about morals or ethical issues here. When you've had other people come in and underbid customers that you courted directly and earned on your own,.. just to see a broker come in and shut you out. Whats good for the goose is good fo the gander.

I got a good one. Shipper can't move a load. Keeps sending me emails. I then take a picture of the load posted for $450 that the shipper is paying the broker's $800 and send it to them.
Guess what driver's? Some shippers don't like broker's either.
