Like title says, just got my class a on 9/9 with hazmat, tankers, dbls & triples, plus twic and passport is in process.
I live in southern Louisiana, Breaux Bridge. Me and my father in law went to school together, wanting to team and really looking for a smaller outfit that has APUs, inverters, miles, decent mileage pay or % you know all the glorious stuff that I should get after driving for 60yrs but am demanding with fresh water dripping off my newb ears.
Applied at Trimac, all local linehaul etc. the economy here is really down thanks to the oil field tanking. Just trying to see if there are any other options that I am missing
Looking for small operations that take recent grads

When it comes to teams, smaller outfits don't guarantee miles. That's just a myth that smaller outfits are better. Some are; some aren't.

Well great news, we both got called into Trimac for a team op, will have interview tomorrow.
The really good thing is we already met the terminal manager 3 weeks ago, we stopped by at that time to just shake his hand and too see what he had to say about possible team ops for us when we graduate. That meet and greet went really well and he told us at that time he does not hire new CDL grads, just burned to many times before but liked what we had to say, along with our long tenure at our prior company, father in law had 13yrs and I had 5.5yrs. This lead to him promising to give us a shot once we graduated
Fingers are crossed, sacrificing a goat, buying holy water that it all goes great tomorrowChinatown Thanks this. -
It pays to be persistant and not believe everything you read on the internet!
@ehtos will be glad to hear about your success.337ram Thanks this. -
Honestly. Start out with a company that meets your needs, then while at said company and gaining experience, talk to everyone you meet. That's how I got my local job. While I was OTR I met a guy that said his boss was needing another driver. We talked about his experiences with the company and decided to give the boss man a call just to check it out. I wasn't even looking to change but everything worked out well and I did.
