I've noticed this too and have often wondered the same thing. That's what I figured too it was kinda just their "thing". I'm glad you brought this up I'll be interested to know if there's a definitive answer. I used to run Quincy everyday when I did LTL, and I will say they have some OLD equipment in their yard. I was talking to a driver in town who runs back and forth between Quincy and St. Louis and he said too he didn't have a fuel gauge. I took it as a figure of speech meaning it wasn't working. But after seeing his truck when I went outside, I wonder. It was summer, both windows down and a dash fan cranking. Yipes. They used to run around with the tandems all the way back and I just figured it was where they go in STL they require you to get em back there. Buuuuut I think it may be they don't slide cuz they've been rusted in place. Probably from all the river crossings when gold was first discovered in California. :D I will say tho we used to deliver to their shop fairly often and the guys down there were always super nice. As is the office personnel. If the OP is looking in the area, McNay seems to have a lot of fingers in a lot of different pies up there. ADM runs trucks but I don't know if any are domiciled out of Quincy or if they all come from Decatur.

    HalpinUout Thanks this.
