Im currently going to NETTTS and have started getting pre hires. I have one for both werner and roehl. Anyone have an opinion on them, especially who might be the better starter company for a new guy? Looking for some info, good or bad, also would like some reasons behind your opinion. any help is appreciated.

For starters you can check out this part of the forum. It is all about the multitude of companies out there. I'm doing the RDTC with Roehl. While I can't speak for Werner, the Roehl program is solid in terms of school and getting students on the road toward their CDL.

Don't go with Werner. They are all back of the bus, as low as they come.

Roehl has a decent Rep, so I would choose them. Good luck, driver!

New driver here - All the investigation that I have done, I would choose Roehl over Werner. But it depends on what you want. Werner will have more options as far as dedicated runs and getting you home. I guess I would say you have more versatility. But your a number with one of the biggest companys out there. Now I have talked to a few drivers that have been with them for many years and obviously there is a reason they have stayed with them.
Roehl is a smaller company compaired to Werner and also has dedicated runs but you might have to wait longer to get on one if that is what you want. Best thing I have found is search these forums and believe 5% of what you read. Ok that may be a little low but just remember your reading testimonails from drivers that may have an attitude towards a company cause they got screwed. And go to a truck stop and talk to the drivers there, buy them a cup of coffee or a piece of pie and you will have a friend for life. I have found that most are more than willing to offer up information on their companys.
But one of the best pieces of advice I got was from my school instructor. He said you will drive your self crazy trying to decide who to go with. Pic one go get your training and some experiance. You have so much more to learn about this industry and a good trainer will teach you this. Then when you finally have some experiance under your belt and you will know more of what you want. (ie..area of country you like driving, is this job for me, how often do I need to get home) Then you can be more educated on making the right choice of what company is the best for me.

Hope this helps some - Good luck in your decision driver!!
