If I had to pick between the 2 , I would take USXpress , the big Orange trucks have a much worse reputation ! But , I have never driven for either one ! Just my opinion .

I would avoid them both! You live an in an area where there is no shortage of good smaller companies. Don't sacrifice yourself if you don't have too! Check out this website... just click on your area and it will give you a list of some good smaller, mom and pop companies.

    http://www.truckdrivercentral.com/truckingcompanies.html

Take the time to do your home work and find a company that is going to best suit you and your individual needs. If you are really serious about trucking and would like to make a lasting, successful career of it, then I highly suggest you avoid the mega-carriers. I know at this point this means nothing to you and all you see is big fancy ads of shiny new trucks for these mega-carriers but as you read through those ads and classifieds ask yourself why is it that these companies have to spend millions of dollars in advertising to get YOU to work for THEM! Why is it they have to hire so many drivers and yet none of them stay driving for them?

Besides all this you also want to really ask yourself if this career is for you. Its not a job by any means, its a lifestyle. You will be living in a truck on the road! Make sure this is the path you want to take because its most likely going to cost you a lot of money and take up a lot of your time to get into this career.

If you want a job, this is not for you. If you want a change in life, an adventure, a new journey, a walk about (lol), and be paid while doing so, then this maybe the right choice for you. This is not the career for the faint of heart or weak soul, its very demanding, very fast paced and can be highly stressful. You have to really hustle in this game!

So far you are on the right track! This is the perfect website to get you started and can be a wealth of information! Can also be a wealth of BS depending on who you are talking too!

So good luck man in your endeavor and if you have any questions feel free to ask....

    Lonewolf1780 Thanks this.

I'll throw this out there. I am a current Usxpress driver, and if you have any questions, feel free to call me. I don't really have time to sit around and post on forums due to the fact that they keep me as busy as they do. If you were to call me, I will say this: I WILL NOT sugar coat anything, and everything I tell you will be my honest opinion. I really enjoy doing what I do, and am not just another butt-hurt driver who is goin to bash a company just because I feel as if they owe me something. I am also not a recruiter. I'll tell you like it is. I don't give a rats behind about "recruiting bonuses", etc. I just want to see prospective drivers get out here and succeed, be it with Usxpress, Schneider, JB Hunt, and yes, even SWIFT. my number is 256-366-9772. Call me any time, and I will be glad to answer any and all questions that I can, and if you have one I can't answer, I'll get you one from someone more knowledgable than me. Call anytime, but just leave me a voicemail if I can't take your call.

    Lonewolf1780 Thanks this.
