When we bought our truck we looked into risinger they were offering 10,000 a week to team drivers. I don’t know much about them. We chose not to go with them because they were up around Chicago and we didn’t want to be in that area and we went ahead and got our own authority. I think they are one of those companies that pay 80% 20% but you may look into. I know MAG carriers pay 90% 10% but I think your fathers lack of experience will be a problem with that company. Carolina is another company who pays the higher percentage to the driver you may check in on them.

your truck and only 65%? screw that. Forget your father, use your two years and your own rig, and get a decent lease on company.
Your dad can go company driver until he gets good. I wouldn't let a noob drive for me in the winter.

I would give someone $4000 if they found me an OTR driver that stays.

Go to landstar. You get 75%. Let your dad get his year in before you two decide if this is really what he wants.
I'm sure you remember all the doubts. And all they I wish I was home moments.
Let that bird spread his wongs and make sure its what he wants.
After a year. Of useing and scoping the load board. You will have a decent amount saved up. You and him can team for a year making ok money and learning each other's routine.
By then he will have his two years. You will have four. Now you guys can get your own numbers and possibly another truck. With you first employee.
The rest as they say is unwritten.

Their rates are such trash, so many double brokered loads.
