Good morning all
I am posting this in hopes that you all will be able to help me. Recently i started to think about driving a tanker currently I am an owner operator with a year off over the road experience ( my current company accepted my military driving time ). I just received my tanker endorsement but did not receive my hazmat yet. I do not have any training with tankers and needless to say no equipment, but i am trying to see if anyone here can help me find a company where i can get started and still make a decent wage until im no longer green so to speak...
Only issue on my lisence is a dui in 2006, and like i said before just not having more than a yr otr. can any of you point me in the right direction I will gladly accept any feedback, Thanks in advance and drive safe

Many tanker companies will hire you, especially after you get the hazmat endorsement. One guy posted recently he landed a job right out of CDL school hauling acid for CTL. Schneider & Prime have tanker schools with their own tanker divisions; but there are many others that will also hire you. When you start applying, ignore the experience required, and apply anyway. One time I worked for Tankstar hauling hazmat 48 states & Canada & they said they required 3 yrs. tanker experience, but I saw them hire 2 new CDL school grads. Also check the websites Careerbuilder & Indeed.

Langer Transport out of jersey city, NJ. awesome company. They have terminals in Joliet IL, Rock Hill SC, One in TX and one in LA. I worked for them back in 2009-2011. I wish they would have terminal here in CA. Also try Quality Carriers Inc. they are the biggest in US.
superpet39 Thanks this. -

Thanks for the info firstclass i really appreciate it

Quality Carriers is mostly affiliate owned terminals . The drivers are employed by the terminals so they are really over 100 of the smallest companies . They have e-logs and a corporate 65 m.p.h. speed limit . I wouldn't go with them as an O/O .

I don't know of any tanker company not requiring TWIC .
