Hello everyone I am a recent graduate from a private CDL school and I am doing the infamous job hunt. I have a few applications to fill out and I am wondering if anyone can give me some comments on these companies or even recommend a company that I should look at. Any info would be greatly appreciated! :biggrin_25514:

I am looking at these companies applications:

    Roehl
    H.O. Wolding
    Stevens Transport
    USA Truck

The companies I chose not to go with are:
    Swift
    Schneider
    US Xpress
    Werner
    ------------------------------------------

    Thanks guys

Trans am uses autoshift trannys.. i'd learn to shift vs using automatics.. Otherwise when you change companies you will not have to take a refresher class on shifting.

Really I didn't know that about TransAm thanks for the heads up. I like manual transmissions I know the automatic would be great for traffic but again thanks for the heads up.

I just finished school 2 weeks ago and a few classmates got pre hires from Stevens but have to wait until March.

I am going with CRST to start, FL is hard to get hired out of. No freight coming out of here. so I cant be picky

And those are probably the companies that would hire you.

There is no such thing as a "Right Company". What works for you may not work for others & vise versa. Just because Joe Blow feels he got screwed over doesn't mean that your going to feel the same way...

You want the right company? Well the right company right now is the company that is willing to hire you, train you, and allow you to gain real road experience. And it may just be one of those companies you choose not to go to.

There is a whole forum here dedicated to nothing but carriers... Instead of asking people to tell you what company you should apply to... You should read those forums & them make a decision based on your needs after reading others opinions.

    Yes there is!

Thanks Redd for your info, I know times are tough hell I got laid off twice in less than a year and I know I can't be picky just like Unidos can't but I just wanted to ask around see what people think. The reason why I chose not to go with Schneider is they aren't hiring, and US Express want's 23 y/o's (website and brochure from school says this) and I am only 22, Swift because my friend works for them and was stuck in a tstop for quite a while waiting for a load amongst other issues, and Werner just because of all the horror stories.

But again thanks for your input I am actually looking at some more companies but I am just gonna chat with the recruiter and research using the search function hopefully finding some info out.
