You have to remember that being in a depressed economy and companies having their strings pulled by insurance dictates profits vs. performance and common sense. Your personal life is just that, personal. Let your performance dictate your career and once you're established tell them your intentions and if they fire you, then sue the pants off them under EEOC and discrimination laws.
