    Hello All,

    First post here.

I am determined to get into the business of storm drain cleaning and I have been looking at trucks for the last few weeks. Currently looking at a 2009 International 7500 truck with a Maxxforce 10 9.3 engine, 35k miles, 4k hours.

I tested the truck for functionality and it is everything I need, all systems including the engine work fine but I am very unsure about going through with the transaction because of the history of the Maxxforce engine family. From the reading the internet, it seems the # 10 was not in the same bracket of unreliability as other engines (13).

    I appreciate any guidance here.

    Julian

IMO, stay away. Between the emissions, EGR system, ICP and cost of parts they can cause you a major headache, especially in these types of applications where the engine isn’t being loaded very often.

    AliasJR Thanks this.
