For the $250+ you would spend on a bells and whistles Yeti cooler, just go buy an Igloo 12V cooler for under $100, and not worry about draining.

I have an igloo extreme that does alright. Ice will last in the summer about 2-3 days with the cooler sitting in between front seats. Have a hose attached to the drain with a valve on the end.

Unless your dead set on using ice I'd suggest an Engel. But I'm not sure what your application or budget is, either.

That makes no sense, how does a 3 amp draw on 12 volts effect the APU and the A/C?

Please advice on a cooler , I am not lying about having a short battery life while sleeping .. I would love a electric cooler no ice etc , but I can't have my full ten in AC as it is , I don't want anything else pulling at my amps , I assume it will cause I spoke to a few guys that works at my company and they said anything u use power with will pull from the batteries .. anyone still use the ice coolers with luck or have same problem I have with battery APU ?
