Well, I guess it was a one post wonder (or troll). Ya'll sceered him off.!

Just as well I suppose. We all seem to think pretty much the same way, get some experience first, one may not like being his own boss, or the job, and soon yet another once for sale truck, will be for sale again.

Personally, I feel sorry for the equipment, being treated like trailer park white trash.

Hey guys sorry for the delay in replying. I'm starting for ffe in 2 months and I am gonna work there for a year and save all my money. I love the idea of not being home often and being all around the country. The goal I'd like to do is work for a year and my goal and dream is to buy my own "starter truck" something around 10-13 thousand and around a 2000 model which I'd keep and cherish cause it would be my own truck. Yes I'm a noob and I am always open to constructive criticism. I understand this is a forums board and not everyone is gonna tell the same story but I appreciate all input and I take it all into consideration and to heart cuz I know I still have alot to learn and you all have more knowledge than I do about this industry

How about "we're going broke faster this time than we did last time"?

No $#!T I can think of a few of those guys...and sadly, low fuel prices keep bringing these idiots back into the business. And guess what...they have the same darn strategy--CUT PRICES!

    Morons...

Im sure you have heard this saying before but here goes "You get what you pay for" and its no different then trucks you get a $10,000-$13,000 trucks and 2 weeks after you buy it motor blows trucks that old have 1.6 million plus miles on them already already over due for an over haul so that $10,000-$13,000 truck is already costing you $30,000-$35,000 already. plus I have never bough a truck that didnt at least need minor work done on it so add another 3k to that. they do alot of sneaky things to makie the truck look nice such as pressure wash the engine after 2 weeks of running truck you notice the oil leaks.

I see this all the time "I saved up money to buy my own truck" they buy truck it ends up costing them more then they thought to get it road worthy now there out of money savings they had gone into the truck so now it sits and they go back to work for company. don't even think about it if you don't have extra capital cause it always costs more then you first anticipate. but if you want to get a decent truck ready to work with minimal repairs needed plan on spending between $30,000-$40,000 2006-2007 model pre emission one with a fresh overhaul is even better but make sure you have all the papers on it. If you do your homework on the truck it could take several months to find the right one. the good ones dont last long. also remember if you see a ton of volvo's for sale or any other type of truck especially if there cheaper then other trucks similar there is a reason for that cause no one wants them most likely there junk trucks that will cost you more money in repairs and breakdowns then other model trucks.

That said I don't think your ready to own one and honestly don't know if you will be any more ready in a year owning one is no where near the same as driving company truck if you want your own authority insurance rates alone will break you with under 2 years experience and alot wont even insure you.

You find work, then you find a truck.
