Wrong, didn't happen. Split a gear lower (into OD) and the temps dropped.
I know that Landstar (before they fired you), TMC and Arnold taught you all you know, but maybe one of them had alterior motives?
Some knowledge apparently, cannot be gleamed from text books and the internerd.

Not that you would know, but folks who drive in actual mountains, with some actual weight on, know all too well how to reduce temperatures across the board. Engine temperature, rear ends temperature, transmission temperature, the whole shebang. Well for those who have the gauges to read it anyway.
It's called RAISING the RPM's, and lowering boost. But how, you say, can it be so? You see, it isn't really engine RPM's that raise temperatures, it's the load. Boost = load by the way.
Trying to dumb it down here, but not sure if it's enough or not.
