What's up everyone, Im trying to get my foot in the door with Fuel,Cyro or chemical hauling.
I live in the Houston/Katy area. I was hauling CNG in WTX for about a year before coming back home to be with my family. I'm currently with AAA Cooper running LTL, but things have slowed down a lot lately.
I have close to 2 years driving experience with Dry van,Tankers,Flatbed and Doubles. Before that I spent over 12 years in the oil and gas industry handling equipment, logistics and well site operations. Clean record and ready to work!
Im looking for steady local work in the Houston area that actually stays busy. Any recommendations on companies to look at or avoid would be greatly appreciated.

Your work experience, location, & your basic path forward are all solid.
What sucks -- is your TIMING.
The class "A" job market...generally speaking...is pretty bad right now.
You will likely have to work much harder than otherwise usual....to score the kind of gig you are looking for.
Most KAG cryo jobs right now are for TEAMS....but who knows...you may score a solo job if you time it right, & they like you.

Just about every chemical tanker company has a terminal in the Houston/Deer Park/LaPorte area. Don’t bother putting apps in online. Go directly to terminals and talk to the manager. If they are interested in you and your in them they will get you to do the application then.

Kag is the scourge of the chemical tank industry. And if you are in Houston, with all the other companies down there, you can surely do better.KDHCryo and RockinChair Thank this.

The good news is that every tanker company on Earth has a terminal in the areas that @kemosabi49 mentioned, plus Pasadena.
So in no particular order, here goes:
Fuel: Gemini, Pilot Flying J, KAG, Groendyke, TTE, UPT, Coastal Transport Co., & Colorado County Oil (Sealy).
Cryo: Messer, Linde, Airgas / Air Liquide, Air Products, Matheson, GenOx, LGT, Coastal Plains, & KAG.
Chemicals: Tidewater, Heniff, KAG, Groendyke, Southern Ionics, Dana, Altom, Service Transport Co., Andrews Logistics, Pulido, Quantix, Quality Carriers, Trimac, Schneider...and probably dozens of others that have slipped my mind.
If you don't mind doing gas that isn't cryogenic, you should check out Enterprise, Grammer, Hercules, and Western International Gas (between Bellville & Hempstead). Enterprise also has a crude terminal in Sealy.
