If you dont have any violations on your driving record you should be good to go. Next, find a cdl school. Anything over 4k is a rip off, and the cdl school should be 1 week in class, 2 weeks yard instruction, 1 week driving, basically a 1 month progam. Right before you sign up though, I would take all the cdl tests before hand to get your temp cdl permit (with the exception of the endorsement test like hazmat, tanker, combination...you can take those later). I say this because that 1st week in driving school the pressure is gonna be on to pass the test so you can get in the truck for yard instruction and driving. There were students in my class that werent passing the tests and they were getting held back...so dont go there. Since I took and passed all the tests before hand I was stress free and worried about nothing. Also caution: if you dont got $$ for school, there are some companies that will offer to pay for your school if you sign some sort of contract with them to drive for them for some period of time, like a year or two. I personally would not do that. 1. I dont do contracts. 2. Youll likely end up making ####sky in wages...and if you signed up for two yrs, thats 2 yrs of poverty. There were some guys in my class that had a contract w a truck company that was paying for their school and the company locked them into some ridiculous 22 cents per mile or something like that. One guy just walked out of class and never came back when he calculated how much hed be making a 22 cents per mile. So dont go there. Next, after your done w school and youve passed the road test and got your cdl find a company. Even though your a new driver go for gold and try to find the best paying company, dont settle for less. Do your homework and find out which types of trucking pay the best...Im partial to flatbed. Also, nobody ever talks about this but be sure the company of your choosing gives you the option of claiming per diem yourself. Alot of companies hijack the drivers per diem and pay it to you instead of you just being able to claim it yourself at tax time. You should have the option of being able to decide if this works best for you or not. If a company says they pay it to you, and thats the only option...then say later and move on. Sorry to be legnthy but you asked a loaded question. good luck.

And also about the blood pressure, stay away from salt, sugar, caffeine. fast a day before the test and you should be fine. avoiding sugar, carbs, salt by itself should with bp greatly.
