    Teams are really intense.

Horse, Saddle and you, the soldier dead last. Everything is placed on the altar of average miles per hour versus mileage remaining.

FINDING a teammate who thinks and runs like you do and being able to adequately commit your soul into the nicotine stained unwashed hands of same as you sleep .... is something special.

We have literally gotten a question from Dispatch on our QC as we pulled out of Avenel FFE Yard onto Route One south in Jersey saying, are we gonna make it? The trip is rapidly recalculated (No GPS in those days) to about 10 minutes roughly. Tell dispatcher yes by 10 minutes or so into LA.

We were there 7 minutes early on the dot. That was one trip where I allowed that FFE tractor to come into Neutral on downgrades and let her go. Gravity took her to 100 and beyond in certain mountain downgrades, there was not too many of those to be found on the winter road, which was generally 81 and 40 across. 81 was FAST but 40? HA....

You would think we could do better with a 63 mph truck, but this was back in 2001 when you could run straight through 10 hours with none of that bs breaks and other mandatory hold it and stop a while laws we have now.

My best advice is to do plenty of research. Many companies use 'predatory' practices when dealing with new people.

Those companies already listed probably offer team or solo options.

Wilson Logistics owns Jim Palmer Trucking, Wil-Trans, O&S. These companies are part Prime Advanced Fleet companies meaning they essentially haul only Prime freight & trailers. People see a tractor belonging to 1 company pulling a Prime trailer and wrongly conclude Prime owns that company.

I have also heard rumors about Jim Palmer going to pull away from the prime contract.. Is that why the incentives between the two are differnt in some areas.
