As stated, looking to get started getting my CDL. I've done lots of homework here and have learned a lot from the experience here all ready.

Not signed on with anyone yet, but am looking heavily at Titan Transfer, but would love to hear from anyone here that has had experience with them.
I didn't want to sign on with a mega, and not being sure what constitutes being a mega, but Titan has about 500 trucks which seems to me to be more of a mid size at best company.
On top of that, Titan being in Shelbyville Tn is only a few minutes from where I live, and know some one that knows some one..... that works there. Unfortunately at the moment I am in Florida (leaving in the morning for TN.) so have not made contact with those sources yet.

I found a few threads about them, and nothing negative. Which could mean no one has anything bad to say about them, or just no one has anything to say about them publicly and I can understand and respect that. Realized I could not send PM's without post here a few times so I thought now would be a good time to jump in and say hi, and see if I could not get some information at the same time.

I also have to say thank you to all of you. From the countless hours I have spent on this site reading I think I have a good idea of what to expect from the life. Everything has it's ups and downs though. After 11 years in the Army and 5 years working with SWAT teams and convicts, I don't think I will get my nose bloodied more than I can handle.

Congrats. BTW..... 500 Trucks is a large company in this industry. Just not MEGA large by definition.

Thanks. Not really looked at the number of trucks the megas run until I saw your reply. I would of never guessed Swift is running 14K trucks down the road. It makes sense that Titan would be considered large at 500 to me knowing that though.

    Appreciate your input.

Don't quote me on this, but......somewhere around 80% of trucking companies in the Country are 10 trucks or less. I'm sure somebody smarter than me, (not a hard thing to accomplish) will have those figures:D

    Thanks all.

Since i couldn't find much negative about titan, i decided to go with them. Did the physical yesterday, and the DMV tests today. Stopped by titan afterwards to see the place and make sure nothing set of my internal alarms.

I know any company is going to be sugar sweet to a rookie at first, but nothing set off my fairly well tuned bs meter.
They sat and talked to me answering questions for a couple hours.
They are an auto transmission company but said they train and test on standards because they have a policy of no restrictions.

@Chinatown i want to thank you for the suggestions. I have read thousands of posts here and it seems you have a reputation here. It was one of your posts that helped lead me to titan and to investigate re west.
