Looking to join Schneider Tank Div. I would like to hear from all the tanker drivers on how they like their jobs, pros/cons. What to expect, what is expected as a new driver and recent grad. How are you treated, is this a great place to work ? Will you retire there ? I will be moving back to the Indy area in about 18 mos. and I am seriously considering going with them. I've had my CDL for 8 years, 200k + safe home daily miles. Traded OTR for home daily right after truck school graduation. Been driving a Propane bobtail for the same company for the last 8 yrs. Clean MVR, no criminal, all endorsements, TSA cleared, current Med. Card. TWIC to follow.
Looking for real world answers and advice from those who know and live the job. Thank you:Transportation cost

Check the Schneider sub-forum section for some more info. I know they hire out of Socal but don't think they hire for tankers in Northern Cal

He said on the sub forum that his recruiter said they would hire him. I don't know maybe we have something new going on up there. He would be the first bulk driver I have ever known to live there. But Schneider is always getting new things so who knows.

You misunderstood my post. I am currently living in Northern Calif. but will be moving back to the Indy area in approx. 18 mos. Upon my arrival to Indiana, I will have my CDL transferred from Calif. to Ind. , then I will attend Sage in Muncie, then hopefully to Schneider within the Indy area.

I been with SNBC since Dec I'm new to trucking and all I can say is that I love it! Only been home twice since Dec that's how much I love it. Schneider always find a way to pay me I sat for 5 hours on a trailer that they assigned to me but the brakes were locked up most companies would get you another load without paying you for that little time but SNBC payed me $70 bucks just to sit and watch YouTube it's a great company so far the only thing I don't like is that we have to shave besides that I love this company pay isn't that bad or low like some might say. I seen weeks over a grand take home and some weeks mid 7's just be nice to your DBL and you will love schneider. They are all about safety trucks kinda slow (governed @ 63) but it's a great company so far and everybody is nice here. Won't retire here I'm 22 lol I want to eventually haul fuel locally after 2 years with Schneider but it's just a great friendly company who cares about you and your safety.

You can't be a SNBF driver, you speak too much English. OH, great and pays 30 CPM. I know as my bro worked there for a year and the pay was awful. He now works for Royal and gets 52 Cents and runs from ERIE Pa to FL or WY, has a 72 mph truck and 550 HP. He said Snyder sucked all the time.

Glad to hear you like it and that you have a plan after gaining the experience. Seems like you are paying your dues big time staying out as much as you are, but that will make the 2 years go quickly. You must be single. My buddy hauls gasoline for Kag, works nights, weekends and holidays. He's rethinking his decision. Good luck with whatever your plans are.

If something goes wrong on a load you will get paid somehow. My DBL has never let me down on that one.

They have temp sensors in all trucks. If it's 70 or under, truck won't idle. Soooo, let's say you're sitting in Houston, it's the usual 80% humidity, truck senses 70 temperature outside, inside it's 80ish, you will be sweltering in that cab. How to sleep you ask? simple, get a room or nap in the Pilot driver lounge. Good luck.
