My license was in Florida, I was out in California for 2 years, using my Florida license. The insurance lapse suspended my license but not my plates/reg and I did secure new insurance but had to be physically in Florida to clear it up in person off my license. While I was out in california I got stopped by a cop on 3 separate occasions, all 3 times they asked me if I knew my license was suspended, I said yes that it was an insurance lapse, since my jeep reg and my insurance was current at that point all 3 cops let me go telling me to have a nice day and enjoy my time in cali. It was no big deal to them, so I am baffled why it is an issue now. It is not like I am a bad driver, my driving record is as perfect as one could have, never an infraction in my lifetime. it sure is frustrating.

Sry about confusion on the state but i would look into a expungement and use tax records to verify you were in CA for work with your residence in FL just didn't know when work was gonna end some judges will work with you and grant it, kinda luck in the draw a lot of companies are gonna look at it like you didnt have a license for two years, cause it was suspended. Most dont even like that happening up to 5 years in the past. I would atleast call an attorney I did and I got a couple things dropped from my GA MVR for like 700 was a cost but not I can truck so was a even trade in my mind. Just something to consider Good Luck to you it can be frustrating.
