All right this is getting a little old my dm keeps giving me loads from Calgary to Oregon then having me drop them short in spokane only to sit all day waiting on a load going back up to calgary thought I was being paid to drive not sit. Drove a whole 2.5 hours today and to make early morning del work on log will have to leave at 3:00 am. Is this normal I'm new to this industry but this doesn't make sense to me

/113.6 miles that comes to about $30 I could do that selling pop cans

You should talk to scooter.. he does a lot of canada..

This is why I don't do canada... there could be a shortage of drivers who do go to canada

You have to light a fire under his ###. Light him/her up. That's what I did. And it worked. You gotta let them know you're there to work. There are a lot of guys who don't want to work. It's how it is here sometimes. Light him up and you'll get work out the wazoo.

Living relatively close to the International Bridge in Detroit, I am going to renew my passport (if I verify that I do NOT have an enhanced CDL--Michigan is one of the states issuing them) so I can be as flexible as possible.

From what the other Canadian drivers have told me most of can freight goes up through ID from I-5 corridor not sure though since I picked up truck haven't got back past spokane.

I've thought about it am gonna take Joseph's advice to an extent I'm not the type of person that likes confrontation. But that being said I don't back down either I have no problem doing what needs to be done but keep me busy I mean come on I could of got this load to point of delivery today instead I work 3 hours take 18 hours off then go again. Granted I will prob run good till I get back down here they always do me good on other end but I'm tired of getting screwed on this end. Sorry to vent on you guys but trying to calm down before I talk to dm

Don't get angry with your DM. You won't win that battle. But DO get assertive. You are the only one looking out for you, so find the line and don't cross it...but get right up to it when you need to.

Guys..listen to a wise old owl.... I dont have a passport for a reason... I also do not have a hazmat endorsement for a reason...

When we first started here my wife and I both had hazmat..always had it... but the only hazmat loads we would get always crossed the rockies west of denver and we had to constantly go over loveland pass on us6...never failed if we were in socal we got conway load to lasalle, il.. I hate expedited freight.. especially conway.. if I wanted to pull their crap I would be working for them... always bust your butt then wait....

Solution. .. went home and dropped hazmat endoresement... told dm and she said no problem...I run all that my hours let me.. we have plenty of freight down here without going to canada and putting up with the hastles....

    Just my opinion..

kinda regretting I told them I have one but after accepting a sign on bonus because of it feel obligated to run with it for a while then I will tell them I have no interest in going to canada and to switch me to US fleet

and my mama taught me to always listen to my elders. Not that I always listen but hey it's the thought that counts right

    DenaliDad and tow614 Thank this.
