How did you know almost word for word. That was they little speech we got and Steve Gordon was busy ( or so they said )so we watched an outdated video on gti history and where company is going. But all will be ok.

Found it mildly amusing to find a GTI recruiting email in my inbox this morning ("following up on your application" -- the one I submitted a year ago). I get these from time to time from Ms Green -- but this one was from a generic recruiting@gordon email... Wonder if Ms Green jumped ship?

I got an email too. I applied with them back in July/August. They wanted me to "re-connect" with them. Thus why I am here checking out your guys' threads haha. I am aware of the Heartland merger. Drive locally now, but miss the road. Guess I'll just have to see what they want to "re-connect" about and for how much per mile. ;)

That's going to happen a lot more frequently than you'll like. Not a bad idea to start 'testing' how far you can run on 'off-duty'. Bailed me out many a time. On my first truck it was about two miles. So in a pinch, can pull over with a minute left, go off-duty and run that couple miles out. You can run circles in a TS all night long and it won't pop you on-duty.

They didn't tell us THAT in Orientation...

SOME drivers make sure they are off-duty whenever they start out during their day to save that couple slow miles, too (for the extra driving time).

That'll become a favorite phrase, 'They didn't tell us... "

Just don't make a habit of it. The Qualcomm logs your position at every change of duty status and DOT audits are increasingly looking for people/companies who abuse that grace window...
