Not legal. CDL must be renewed in person, PO box addresses not allowed for CDL. Need proof of residence when applying for and renewing. Transferring is easy. No tests. VT CDL costs less. VT taxes are lower. No employer cares what state issued the CDL. Falls info on a CDL jeopardizes the license, why bother taking that chance?

Just curious - why do you want to move to Vermont? It's not cheap to live here anymore, and jobs don't pay very well. I've lived here most of my life, and I think about moving all the time, but whenever I think about having to look at billboards all day (since Vermont has none), I reconsider and decide to stick it out.

There are instances where a driver in non-traditional housing can use an address, a mailbox for instance, and a resident address that is not a stick house.
    For Instance:
A driver who had a house, wife and children. He is divorced and to make money, he drives many hours over the road. He doesn't maintain a "stick house or apartment" but he wants to maintain a legal and physical presence in the State where his children reside. He would use a mailing address and prove residency by showing he is "legally present" in that State and intends to return.
Another example is teams who maintained a home. He drove, she stayed in the stick house then she decided to give up the stick house and join him. They are RV'ers yet they would maintain a legal and physical presence in the State of their last "stick house." even though their only abode is a semi. The State of their last stick house is where they intend to return, Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise.
These exceptions, if honestly declared, are given consideration by the States and if other residency requirements are met (vehicles registered, insurance paid, active voting) then a mailing address and non-traditional resident address can be established.

Nobody cares where your CDL originated, and precious few outside of MA even KNOW that they're more stringent with their CDL testing. If you want to move to VT, do it...your blood pressure at the very least should drop a few points :)
