Looking to sue my former carrier

Being lucky with a Prepass wouldn't even explain that - you have to upload a copy of your cab card each year. Unless the carrier falsified it somehow.

Probably more of a case of a naïve owner being baffled with bs on the paperwork/accounting stuff. Apparently he's learned some new tricks from that last one.

 

Nice people in Colorado, they will come out and check your vin number to make sure your truck is not stolen. Check your log book, make sure you are not all tuckered out. They will even make sure your chains are on your truck for you at times.

You should just chalk this up as a lesson learned and move on.By the time this case does surface it'll be a good 2 yrs.

 

I think you should get a lawyer that specializes in Transportation Law (or whatever it's called) and have them look over your next contract. Also, put some kind of tracker in your truck so you can track where it is at any given moment. Don't let shady companies hire their own drivers, lease your truck and your own driver onto a company unless you trust them completely. Sorry to say that you have to learn the hard way, but in the world of trucking it seems to be the only way. Good luck to you and I'm sorry you got screwed so bad.

I'd still like to know how the dirt bag a.k.a head of operations a.k.a. really good friend allowed you to get sucked into the arrangement. Something doesn't add up there.
