a) This is a dead thread
b) I max out my 70 in 6-7 days, meaning I could not legally drive any more than I do. If I were only driving 20 days a month I would reduce my income by 33%. There is no way around this unless that program pays a higher CPM.
c) Having to get a load to sfla every 10 days is going to limit the areas you can run, and length of load most likely

I think you are right. You pretty much need to find co-driver in the area yourself, and not many are from Florida. I start with CRST on Monday and need to find a co-driver soon. Hopefully this forum works for me.

Thanks for the info, got 2 Floridians to respond in 10 mins. Not bad for a dead thread. I thought the 70 restarted after a day off (34hrs to be exact) ? Still seems a motivated driver can make money. Do you work for CRST? They assure me they have the freight to get me home.

I dont work for crst. The 70 does restart after a 34, which I take about 3 times per month. If you drive every legal hour in 8 days, it's 77 hours. There's no way around that. On a team truck it will likely be less because you will probably max out at 9-10 hours before the co-driver takes over. I'm sure they have the freight to get you home, but getting home usually required planning a week out, so you're almost constantly working on getting home. You have to get a load going home, and you have to get a load going to where the load going home comes out of. There are places with a lot of inbound freight from many points, so this isn't a problem, but I dont believe sfla is one of them. My dead thread comment was to the fact that this thread was last posted in 3 weeks ago. I would've started a new thread to look for co-drivers.

That's 7 11 hour driving days plus one 34. Legal, but improbable. might be possible with all d&h and no dead time (thus very improbable)

20/10 in South Florida would be great if you don't need to make money. There just isn't much coming out of there.

That's what I keep hearing (from people who work for other companies) but CRST says they have the freight and will priority dispatch to the
20/10 trucks. They may be blowing smoke but I am willing to give them the opportunity to do what they say they can. My other option is to listen to the naysayers, without checking for myself.
