It seems to me in the trucking industry, if you have less than one year experience you have to work for a crap company. There's not many options in the tanking industry coming fresh out of school. It didn't work out at all with Schneider and I just can't seem to find a good company to work for under a year. Looks like my only option is to go flatbed which really sickens me because I love driving tankers and have no interest in driving any other type of truck :(

You do what you have to. Get that first year in then move on. Everyone has to pay their dues.

CTL is highly interested and said they can get the ball rolling where I come in for orientation next Monday. I don't know what to think about this company they seem all right on paper but I've heard people complain about them here.

I don’t know anything about flatbed and even less about tanker but if I can offer any sliver of advice it’d be if you can afford it, take your time and research companies before you make a move. You don’t want to find your dream job 2 years from now, only to get denied because you have to attach additional pages to your work history. Schneider has a good rep I do believe as far as their tanker training, so I feel this helps your applications. I’d apply to places you’re interested in and to hell with their experience requirements. Worst they can say is no. I don’t know your area you live in and it’s none of my business anyway, but scour craigslist, hit up Indeed. A lot of local fuel haulers, at least up here in KC are crying for drivers. Ethanol plants as well. You’ll find something dude, don’t get discouraged. Best of luck.
