Was Maverick one of the companies on your list Nick? I really hate what's happened to you. Not fair. Bad form. Bad form indeed.

Nah I stayed away from flatbedding. Too much like work LOL No it's because I have a 40% disability rating. I am not able to lift the weight of the tarps. My back is pretty screwed up but I have learned to get around it pretty well. But I KNOW I can't handle those tarps and chains etc.. that flatbedders have to deal with.
Much respect to them cowboys for sure!!!:yes2557:

Honestly, I'd rather chain, nail, strap, and tarp than deal with dock people, except for the days you have to spread 200lb. frozen tarps in a 25mph wind on a winter's day. The heat I can handle.
True, skateboarders are the last of the cowboys. Not for the timid of heart. Or the physically infirmed. I go to the VA wednesday to see if they're going to allow me to drive (because of my ejection factor) or disable me; I'm on hold. In the meantime, I'm at the gym doing all the stuff the 25 year olds can't even attempt. This sux.
I chose to NOT lay down and die; I corrected my diet and hit the gym at 46, and now the DOT wants to tell me I'm needing 40% E.F. to qualify. Funny, I don't need it for anything like skate dancing, hauling lumber up ladders, weightlifting, and whooping the wife. I think I can hold a gearshift.

Just called Maverick today and they are not hiring any new divers at this time and did not know when they would be. They said to call back in a month or so.

Sorry to hear that one. Mav was one of the "positive" co's on my list. Try Celadon or Magnum Logistics or Conway.
BTW, I massively passed the stress test. Threw a 67% ejection factor, up from my original 30%! Weightlifting has it's purposes! So I now have a DOT card; getting the $ up for my recertification.

Courtney called me again on Thursday. They are hiring for REGIONAL FLAT now, at least out of NC. This is the better division than what I had applied for in Glass.

I told her I had bought a truck, she said glass hires O/O's out of NC but they are still frozen.

    Fratsit Thanks this.

Maverick called me last week and I have not even applied for a job with them (I was on the rehire list)...I told them I'd be there though (May 24th for orientation)

3 months later...I'm sitting in Dickson, TN getting a 34 hour restart.

Miles have been good, glad I came back.
