That'll work or even WD40 will gather your shavings. Just mark your drill bit with a piece of tape about 1/2" up and it won't go through the lock all the way but should do major damage to the tumblers where you can turn it.

Let's say you accidently punched through and a couple shavings fell. Chances are they would sit in the tank with the other trash. If it did get picked up it would never make it past the filter.

So if its a twist off cap. Get a large chisel and a mini sledge hammer 4lbs. Then hit the nubs on the side of the cap to unscrew. Kind of like the hack mechanics that use chisels to loosen axle nuts instead of the right size socket.

That way wasn't OSHA approved. Didn't you read the safety instructions that came with the screw driver, I.e no using as chisel or hammering it. That fine will cost more than they wanted for duplicate keys. Lol.
