loud noise coming from trailer like dragging chains

    Another truck told me about the noise so I started listening for it myself, and it just started so I haven't been able to see if it makes that noise when empty.

    I used to work for a company that had bright white mudflaps with a chrome weight on them. At times, they would drag, and make a heck of a noise similar to what you've described. I had even had people holler at me on the CB about it, and one guy in a pickup chased me down and tried to pull me over to help me fix it. But I knew what it was and blew him off. Anyway, that's a possible idea for you.

    Probably the lift axle bouncing, rattling the chain that lifts it, if so equipped. I've passed loaded 3 axle step decks with the lift axle bouncing.
