This network could solve a myriad of problems being kicked around on this and the dozens of other threads of the same topic.
It is nothing short of rethinking the entire way smaller carriers could compete with mega carriers and improve their profit and quality of life for their drivers.

    Let the naysayers begin....

My issues are with the people who use the parking lots to store their trucks instead of an overnight or 34 see it all the time near any city. You will also see this at rest area parking lots.

It's a solid idea, my main question is how many terminals do they have open?

It is in the concept stage. I would direct questions to them on the website regarding rollout timing and locations.
It is kind of like the chicken and the egg thing.
Before someone pulls the trigger on several hundred million dollars worth of development it would be prudent to see what the demand would be.

Yeah like others are saying it's guys who drive local daycabs or whatever and hold their spot by parking personal cars in them. They or their company are too cheap to have legit truck parking somewhere. I dunno why truck stop managers tolerate that BS. Freeloaders drive paying customers away.

That's an expense your company should cover. I like being somewhere on a W2 that there's absolutely never any out of pocket expense for anything. In your shoes I'd be planning an exit strategy. It's cheap of them to be like that. Reminds me of companies that expect drivers to never idle their truck but they don't have APU's. That's total disregard and disrespect for the drivers.

When you're not a profit participant and only make $50k a year - how much of a fuss are likely to make?

The managers are participants in the profits. They have to be making $100K+ a year? Surely there are bonuses for good performance or exceeding expectations? Buccee's pays their mangers very well, and employees too. That's a direct competitor of Loves/TA/Pilot setting a bar. In all likelihood they make a lot more than $100k and good managers can make #### happen. Keeping paid parking clear of squatters ain't a difficult job. Some places tolerate it and some don't.

Good managers can indeed make things happen, but they're going to focus on things that will actually make them look better to corporate. Unless the fire marshal or the regional manager starts making a fuss, it's inviting a headache with no payoff.

The Oak Creek WI manager is a good boss from everything I've seen but he has been entirely unable to deal with the creative parkers, let alone the guys using it as a terminal. If he has to make a choice between having his maintenance guy cleaning showers or enforcing parking, the showers are going to win because wait times are an easily observed metric, whereas parking (particularly illegal parking) is not.

No way is he making $100k a year either. I'd say $75k tops.

Not every manager is a good manager but understand there are some too that have the respect of the people they manage. It does happen.

People getting creative and parking where they shouldn't is one thing but squatters parking in paid parking hurting profit is another thing altogether.

If he's willing to accept $75k for that job when there's other similar jobs that pay substantially better that's on him. It's like truckers that will settle for less when there's better out there. It does happen.
