No what center is he out of?

Couple questions for ya Troop.
1. Driver facing cameras, yes or no?
2. Trucks equipped with refrigerators and/or inverters?
3. What's the governor set at?
Just curious about this, I put in an app to run regional out of Richmond, VA, but haven't spoken with a recruiter yet. -
1 No cameras at all but I hear front facing ones may be coming (not a bad idea at all if it does, it saved my butt plenty of times as a Trooper!)
2. Not equipped with them, up to you. Yes inverters are installed and every truck has an APU also
3. Tricky one, mine has a eco system in it. When I strictly use the gas 63 is the most I can get on mine, 65 using cruise and but the engine break is not strong and you can easily go 70 up to 75. However spent too many seconds at 72 or more and you will not like the call. Same with the breaks. If you slam on breaks expect a call not a you are in trouble call but a what happened call.Woobie Thanks this. -
also be prepared to get your hazmat and tanker endorsements that you will be totally reimbursed for.

Front facing cameras are ok by me, can't abide a driver facing camera though. Good info, thanks.
Solo_Seat Thanks this. -
Do they still make you wear uniforms, cover up tattoos, have a facial hair policy and can't bring the truck home?

Governors are supposed to be set at 63/65 (pedal/cruise) but I have found that just about every tractor is different. the POS volvo I'm in now will only do 62/.64, whereas my old cascadia would do 64/66 (hence why I want that one back, LOL)
Cameras are being tested by Averitt's driver committee. 6 different types I believe and I think 2 of those are driver facing as well... but the general consensus is that no driver facing will be used. You can use a dashcam of your own now if you have one, but from what I'm hearing it will be a couple of years at least before they becomestandard issue in the truck. I also heard not that long ago, there is a possibility of a collision avoidance system being tested. but at this point it's nothing but heresay...
Oh and anything past 69 (in speed) can get you a qualcomm warning/ FM phone call (depending on who it is) and if you stay at a speed (above normal) for very long it will result in a violation. (personal oops, there)
