i understand brokers want to make money but they are already charging the customers a lot more then they even offer the truck drivers. we gotta eat too.

This is nothing new. I see cheap freight going to FL all the time from different states. Ultimately it all boils down to supply and demand. If brokers notice their phones are ringing off the wall for loads going to FL, you bet their load rates will lower. They’re in business to make money just like truckers. Anyone taking cheap freight all the time will eventually eliminate himself from the trucking business, which in turn will force brokers to increase their load rates.

I'm from RI. 1350 a month on insurance with an owned truck and clean driving record.. If I had the money I'd invest on in with insurance companies as they are always raising rates

Rates have been that low and much lower on the west coast for the last month because there has been no freight coming in or going out to China. I was looking at some loads just today out here for a buck a mile, a couple were like .87 cents per mile. Sounds like it's finally working its way east from here. Hang onto your shorts. It's about to get a lot worse.

All I know is big carriers charge shippers $2.90+ per mile on dry vans he’ll big carriers charge amazon that. Yet amazon has no problem paying pennies for miles and yet these drivers don’t understand that.

I get it brokers need to make money but it’s not like they are doing one or two loads from that shipper, they get bulk meaning and offer bulk capacity just as much as any big carrier.

yet you don’t see the $$$ on the boards. why is that?

One time LA Dispatch in FFE had a slip of tougune and told me that there is 15 trailers in WA needing to be brought to CA asap.

We were a team then. I asked if we could just get started moving all 15 of them down. It wont take long.

Erm... we'll get back to you.

    A few hours later?

    "No"

why not? We have enough solos for all 15.

I think more accurately someone wanted all 15 of them here now yesterday. None of this one at a time over a week or two.
