Everytime I've been to florida, I had to sit for minimum 3 days waiting on a load out of there. Consider that too...

I have to say this is strange. Usually it is high rate INTO FL and low ball on the way out. As there is tons to bring in, but ####e to take out. At least back when I helped my Bro-N-Law do brokering it was that way.

As long as you prove yourself as one of the best, there will always be work for you, virus or not.

Brokers getting rich off the drivers and companies that will haul there trash for peanuts. Sad to say the least.

That they definitely are. But a lot of drivers fault as they accept crap money for long haul roads.
So if the brokers can get away with it, why wouldnt they make their pocket rich instead. Just sucks for us that have been doing this for over 30+ yrs and trying to make a living.

Had a friend take a cheap load out of Chicago area to Ft Lauderdale thinking it would get him down south for some freight back west from the gulf coast area ended up stuck in Fla for a week. Ran for two more weeks and sold his truck and trailer. The brokers could care less who they take advantage of if one goes out of business there will be another sucker there to take the last ones place the following day. Sooner or later they might run out of drivers that will take there lowball garbage and get a real job.

if there was a way that we could get a rate chart out to all owners and drivers so that we would be on the same page this way brokers cant take advantage of the ones that dont know or understand the trucking business.

Sadly you’d have to reach every carrier. The O/O or anyone running load boards can let cheap freight sit or bounce empty, but the non-trucking based carriers will run it all day long.
I speak from experience, my customer has their own trucks and as long as it’s going back to their HQ, on it goes. Sucks cause it makes it a headache at times.
Those that have dedicated accounts can’t be left sitting on a good paying load either.
There’s still too many trucks on the market, especially with cheap fuel.

I stepped out of comfort zone this week and pulled in more piecing a few short runs in. Probably more luck than placement, but got 2700 coming back from Appleton WI to mobile AL. Beats what was out there when I was looking Wednesday to reload, best on the boards was 1800 to Nola.

Though same time there was a Brentwood NY to Pensacola FL for 2750 and Hazleton PA to orange Beach, AL for 2550. Both posted rates from broker on dat. ATS I think? Don’t remember. But last week best I could find was 1800 going back to Pensacola out of NJ. Those water loads. Beats a rustoleum load for 1100 that CHR pushes these days.

Ya, gonna be interesting to see how bad it gets.

Passed a couple Jason Aldean trucks today who were chatting with another driver. They said Live Nation canceled all tours until April and that everyone was headed back to Nashville.

You guys better haul all the Toliet paper and hand sanitizer you can while it lasts.

All these drivers out here who haul Concert/ trade shows, oil field, and container who are out of work will be taking your loads shortly!!!
