07 freightliner century Detroit series 60.

Freightliner has replaced 4 coolant sensor and the issue won't go away. I pulled the sensor clip and put a clothespin in it but that didn't work.

Are there wires behind the coolant tank or isbthe front wire/sensor the only wire coming into the coolant reservoir?

This light shuts the truck off immediately so it's a big problem

Also noticed the light seems to come on mainly when cruise is set...and then after it comes on for about 5 seconds it goes away...and then the cruise won't work until the truck comes to a stop again

Also was going to try and clean the sensor as the coolant could be getting carbon in it? Can freightliner test the coolant?

    Help please thanks

Check batteries to frame starter to frame starter to engine grounds. It sounds like you have a bad ground and your computer is using your coolant as a ground. Also check your computer wires to ground. The shutdown on low coolant is programmable have it so it doesn't shut off.

Thank you.. I will talk to freightliner. Should I still have the coolant tested?

Each time the sensor has been replaced....the light usually won't come on for about a week or so....which makes me believe it takes that long before the new sensor gets dirty enough where it can't read there's coolant. The light used to stay on for a few minutes.. Right now it flashes for 5 seconds

Most Detroits are programmed to shut down with low coolant level. I can't see 4 sensor in a row being NFG. I would take a guess and say you might have a broken wire somewhere in the harness near the sensor. If I'm reading it right you bypassed the sensor with a clothespin and it still didn't work? What about if you leave it unplugged? Does it work then?

I have a 2001 classic when the ground computer wire on the frame rail by the battery box was loose in the terminal my Jakes acted up, my cruze acted up, the tach acted up and the coolant light kept coming on. Have your mechanic check the coolant sensor from the ECM terminals.

It came on a few times today when I wasn't on cruise. I also notice it seems to come on more later in the afternoon after the trucks been running all day. Also... If I'm on cruise and under throttle then if I have to hit the brake and throttle abrublty stops and has set it off

Give a good tug to your ground wires.Had a guy Once had a bad starter to engine ground had to give it a good tug and it fell apart in my hands the only thing holding it was the shrink wrap.

Something is not grounding right. Computers need a ground and voltage steady. ANY thing that disrupts that is the same as if someone is inducting electricity to your skull, you wont be able to mentally function right. Sounds like that is the problem.
