Got laid off a year ago and was unable to find a job (rural America). No local driving jobs so I broke down and going back to OTR. Drivers complain about the low wages. Try making nothing for a year :)

Well, lost our land lease and closed our family business, upside down with a 6 digit operating cost credit line in 2010. Went back to driving and hope to be debt free shortly before I die. Welcome to the club! ;)

You don't live off of the government. People that receive welfare, food stamps and all the rest from these government programs are living off of the people that work.
The government taxes people that work and gives to people that don't work. The government dose not produce anything. Of course now they just print more money
when they cant raise enough to give to the people who don't work. That's why your money is losing its value and you keep working but your money buys less goods.

Low pay is better then NO pay. You have to do whatever it takes to provide for your family. Good on you. Now just keep your eyes open for better opportunities and in a few years you will look back at this as just a hicup.

You know, it's scary to me. I've confirmed this myself by working with the general populace and other jobs that dealt directly with those programs...

No joke. It is possible to own your own home, and live more than comfortably and never work a day in your life. If you applied for all state and federal benefits, in some areas it's possible to rake in 50k a year that is all tax-free...

Welcome back to the workforce, we needed you!
