First off, no one asked what kind of engion you have. the peek power is at a different rpm on catd, detroits and cummings. They all require different rpm to shift.
That being said, on the lower (1-4) side drop a full 400-500 rpms on each shift. On the uppper side (5-8th) drop only 200 rpm.
Low Speed Shifting/Steep Grade new to 13 speed

Perhaps that is the one that was meant. -
it was a 1989 pete daycab if i remember right.
and it pulled a end dump.
so if eaton didn't make it. then it was rigged cuz the bottom is where it split and not the top. i drove that truck for a year. 5 years ago.
they also had a 1985 pete that also pulled a end dump. it was a 10 speed that shifted in a U pattern and not the typical upside down N pattern.
just becuase you old timers never heard of it. don't mean it don't exist. and with the trucks being 25 years old. who knows what mechanics do. -
that truck didn't have much for power. struggled on the hills. having to take off on a incline was a beach.TheDude1969 Thanks this. -

You can't split a 15 sp. because there is no OD. It has 2 range selectors not a splitter. Deep Reduction,Low and Direct. Has a Blue range selector on the Head. The funny U shape pattern is not unusual in Trans. It can be on the inside of the pattern (15 Direct)or the outside(15 Over). If it's got a OD splitter like a 13sp and the outside gear selection pattern is reversed(funny U shape)its a 13 Double Over.
