I need a 48’ double drop extendable that has a LOW deck height. And when it’s extended I can’t have the arch sky high! I see xl is making an extendable mini deck, but the arch is so high when extended it ruins the whole trailer.

so far the best looking option is BWS with an 18” deck height.

I need a deck above the kingpin and the axles

Once you load it the arch should come out of it, no?

With enough weight that arch will come back down. Really depends what you're trying to haul. Loads that are spread out over the entire length though will be harder to get the arch down.

The whole point of arching up when you open the trailer is so that they can still support the weight without going negative while open.

If you have a significant budget a faymonville megamax is probably the lowest stretch trailer you can get but you'll want to be sitting down when you get the quote for one.

I can spoil the fun - it approaches $400k before any significant deck inserts. Also, it will weigh north of 40k as a 3 axle - they are supposedly bringing a single booster out to go with it. Plus is deck height of around 12”

the XL copy is steerable as well but I heard it weighs north of 45K.

I pulled a Transmaster with 58’ in the well 3 axle steerable and it was very handy but the price will make you go weak in the knees.

get used to being tall - the XL 40 ton will get you 20” but it has to have weight on it - otherwise plan on 22”

my MX with no deck shim in will get down to 20” as well

That is not quite 90k on the deck - I am 21” there

Just FYI, when I was looking at an XL mini deck.....dealer told me they have to be near capacity to get the arch to come out!!!
    I went with a Kalyn mini-deck instead.....

And XL paint jobs are horrible.....

Could you order the trailer with a low arch? Sounds like maybe you have some freight lined up.

Where the Faymonvillle excels is it’s versatility. The quad in the rear has a single flip-able axle with the number three lift-able. It’s ability to get down to a deck height close to a foot even with a light load. Shimming is your friend with this trailer. Also it allows the operator to select a ride height meaning there’s no preset height. Yes it’s a heavy trailer add in the deck sections and its worse. The maneuverability of this trailer will amaze anyone. Parts are expensive and can be bought mainly thru Hale Trailer. The D rings are a dumb size making half inch chains a chore. As a company driver I would pull this trailer every day….
